Kalma Tayyaba
The declaration of faith in Islam
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللهِ
Urdu Translation:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، محمد ﷺ اللہ کے رسول ہیں
English Translation:
There is no god but Allah, Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah
Section 2
Ayatul Kursi (آیت الکرسی)
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255) - The Throne Verse
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
Urdu Translation:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ زندہ اور سب کا تھامنے والا ہے۔ نہ اسے اونگھ آتی ہے نہ نیند۔ آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے اسی کا ہے۔ کون ہے جو اس کے حضور اس کی اجازت کے بغیر سفارش کر سکے؟ وہ جانتا ہے جو کچھ ان کے سامنے ہے اور جو کچھ ان کے پیچھے ہے۔ اور وہ اس کے علم میں سے کسی چیز کا احاطہ نہیں کر سکتے مگر جتنا وہ چاہے۔ اس کی کرسی آسمانوں اور زمین پر چھائی ہوئی ہے۔ اور ان دونوں کی حفاظت اس پر گراں نہیں۔ اور وہ بہت بلند اور بہت عظیم ہے۔
English Translation:
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Section 3
Surah Al-Ikhlas (سورة الإخلاص)
Surah 112 - The Purity (4 verses)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
Urdu Translation:
شروع اللہ کے نام سے جو بے حد رحم کرنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے۔
کہہ دو کہ وہ اللہ ایک ہے۔
اللہ بے نیاز ہے۔
نہ اس کی کوئی اولاد اور نہ وہ کسی کی اولاد۔
اور اس کی برابری کرنے والا کوئی نہیں۔
کہہ دو کہ وہ اللہ ایک ہے۔
اللہ بے نیاز ہے۔
نہ اس کی کوئی اولاد اور نہ وہ کسی کی اولاد۔
اور اس کی برابری کرنے والا کوئی نہیں۔
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say, "He is Allah, the One and Only.
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
He begets not, nor was He begotten.
And there is none comparable to Him."
Say, "He is Allah, the One and Only.
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
He begets not, nor was He begotten.
And there is none comparable to Him."
Section 4
Surah Al-Falaq (سورة الفلق)
Surah 113 - The Daybreak (5 verses)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ
وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ
وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ
وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ
وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
Urdu Translation:
شروع اللہ کے نام سے جو بے حد رحم کرنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے۔
کہہ دو کہ میں صبح کے رب کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
ہر اس چیز کے شر سے جو اس نے پیدا کی۔
اور رات کے اندھیرے کے شر سے جب وہ چھا جائے۔
اور گرہوں میں پھونک مارنے والیوں کے شر سے۔
اور حاسد کے شر سے جب وہ حسد کرے۔
کہہ دو کہ میں صبح کے رب کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
ہر اس چیز کے شر سے جو اس نے پیدا کی۔
اور رات کے اندھیرے کے شر سے جب وہ چھا جائے۔
اور گرہوں میں پھونک مارنے والیوں کے شر سے۔
اور حاسد کے شر سے جب وہ حسد کرے۔
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.
From the evil of what He has created.
And from the evil of darkness when it settles.
And from the evil of the blowers in knots.
And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.

And from the evil of the blowers in knots.

Section 5
Surah An-Nas (سورة الناس)
Surah 114 - Mankind (6 verses)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
Urdu Translation:
شروع اللہ کے نام سے جو بے حد رحم کرنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے۔
کہہ دو کہ میں لوگوں کے رب کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
لوگوں کے بادشاہ کی۔
لوگوں کے معبود کی۔
اس وسوسہ ڈالنے والے کے شر سے جو پیچھے ہٹ جاتا ہے۔
جو لوگوں کے دلوں میں وسوسہ ڈالتا ہے۔
جنوں اور انسانوں میں سے۔
کہہ دو کہ میں لوگوں کے رب کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
لوگوں کے بادشاہ کی۔
لوگوں کے معبود کی۔
اس وسوسہ ڈالنے والے کے شر سے جو پیچھے ہٹ جاتا ہے۔
جو لوگوں کے دلوں میں وسوسہ ڈالتا ہے۔
جنوں اور انسانوں میں سے۔
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.
The King of mankind.
The God of mankind.
From the evil of the whisperer who withdraws.
Who whispers in the breasts of mankind.
Among jinn and among mankind."
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.
The King of mankind.
The God of mankind.
From the evil of the whisperer who withdraws.
Who whispers in the breasts of mankind.
Among jinn and among mankind."
Section 6
Istighfar (استغفار)
Seeking forgiveness from Allah
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Urdu Translation:
میں اللہ سے اپنے تمام گناہوں کی معافی مانگتا ہوں
English Translation:
I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins
Benefits of Istighfar:
• Brings peace and tranquility to the heart
• Increases provision (Rizq) and blessings
• Removes sins and misdeeds
• Brings one closer to Allah

Namaz Ka Sabaq (نماز کا سبق)

1 Niyyat (نیت) - Intention
نَوَيْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ رَكْعَتَيْنِ صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ
Urdu:
میں نیت کرتا ہوں اللہ تعالیٰ کے لیے دو رکعت فجر کی نماز پڑھنے کی، منہ قبلہ کی طرف
English:
I intend to pray two rak'ahs of Fajr Salah for Allah Almighty, facing the Qibla
2 Takbeer Tahreema (تكبير تحريمہ) - Opening Takbeer
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Meaning:
Allah is the Greatest
Raise both hands to the ears (men) or shoulders (women) and say Allahu Akbar.
3 Thana (ثناء) - Praise of Allah
سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَٰهَ غَيْرُكَ
Urdu:
پاک ہے تو اے اللہ اور تیری تعریف ہے، بابرکت ہے تیرا نام، اور بلند ہے تیری شان، اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں
English:
Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. Blessed is Your name and exalted is Your majesty. There is no god but You.
4 Taawuz (تعوذ) - Seeking Refuge
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
Meaning:
I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan
5 Tasmiya (تسمیہ) - Bismillah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Meaning:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
6 Surah Al-Fatiha (سورة الفاتحہ)
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
Urdu Translation:
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو تمام جہانوں کا رب ہے۔ بے حد رحم کرنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے۔ جزا کے دن کا مالک ہے۔ ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں۔ ہمیں سیدھا راستہ دکھا۔ ان لوگوں کا راستہ جن پر تو نے انعام کیا، نہ ان کا جن پر غضب ہوا اور نہ گمراہوں کا۔
English:
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who go astray.
7 Ruku (رکوع) - Bowing
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ
(Say at least 3 times)
Meaning:
Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great
8 Qawma (قومہ) - Standing up from Ruku
سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ
رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
Meaning:
Allah hears those who praise Him. Our Lord, to You is all praise.
9 Sajdah (سجدہ) - Prostration
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَىٰ
(Say at least 3 times)
Meaning:
Glory be to my Lord, the Most High
10 Jalsa (جلوس) - Sitting between two Sajdahs
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي
Meaning:
O my Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and provide for me
11 Tashahhud (تشہد) - Testification
التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
Urdu:
تمام آداب، عبادتیں اور پاکیزہ چیزیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں۔ اے نبی! آپ پر سلام ہو اور اللہ کی رحمت اور برکتیں نازل ہوں۔ سلام ہو ہم پر اور اللہ کے تمام نیک بندوں پر۔ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد ﷺ اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔
English:
All greetings, prayers and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
12 Durood Ibrahim (درود ابراہیم)
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Urdu:
اے اللہ! رحمت نازل فرما محمد ﷺ پر اور آل محمد ﷺ پر جیسا تو نے رحمت نازل فرمائی ابراہیم پر اور آل ابراہیم پر۔ بیشک تو تعریف والا اور بزرگی والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! برکت نازل فرما محمد ﷺ پر اور آل محمد ﷺ پر جیسا تو نے برکت نازل فرمائی ابراہیم پر اور آل ابراہیم پر۔ بیشک تو تعریف والا اور بزرگی والا ہے۔
English:
O Allah, send Your mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your mercy upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.
13 Dua Maasura (دعا ماثورہ) - Supplication
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي
رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Urdu:
اے میرے رب! مجھے نماز قائم کرنے والا بنا اور میری اولاد میں سے بھی۔ اے ہمارے رب! میری دعا قبول فرما۔ اے ہمارے رب! مجھے بخش دے اور میرے والدین کو اور تمام مومنوں کو جس دن حساب قائم ہوگا۔
English:
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants as well. Our Lord, accept my supplication. Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day when the account is established.
14 Salaam (سلام) - Greeting of Peace
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ
Turn head to the right first, then to the left
Meaning:
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah
